It is December, and while that means snow and freezing temperatures for some people, for those of us living in Panama it means that the glorious summer season is here! No more rain and chilly weather: it is the time of year where Panamanians and tourists alike go outdoors and enjoy the unique weather Panama provides.
Panama enjoys a stellar “dry season” from December to May, while the rest of the year is left for the “rainy season” to do its bidding. During the dry season, the weather is at its most tropical with temperatures averaging in the 80’s F consistently throughout the season. This is also the time of year where the beaches across the nation are flocked by thousands looking for some fun in the sun.
In the Panama Pacific Coast Beaches, one of the most unique places in Latin America, the dry season is a special time for both residents and business owners. Tourism spikes up during the summer months, and spots like Nueva Gorgona, Coronado, San Carlos, Rio Hato are fast becoming “the top area for expats”, being chosen for the warmth of its people, shopping, golf courses, pristine beaches and old world rural charm.
Even though the Pacific Coast Beaches are still undergoing a revamp in its infrastructure, recently adding a new international airport, fish market, several new shopping malls , the town is now well prepared to receive the influx of tourism it will enjoy during the dry season. Hotels, restaurants, bars and shops are readily available to cater to every tourist’s needs.
Hostels, smoothie shops and even a surf school have also been set up in along the beach towns. Golf is now the new rising trend with 5 golf courses in the area to keep you busy all summer long. Resting your bones against the clear white sand and bask in perfect weather at the beach with your loved ones is also a possibility.
A popular tourist spot is the El Valle mountains with fresh vegetable market, ATV tours, natural springs and waterfalls to keep you cool plus the best temperatures in the area that you wont even break a sweat too.
Of course, the beach area celebrates with class hosting many celebrations and the biggest event which is wildly popular during the month of February due to the annual Carniaval celebration. Though Panama Pacific Coast Beaches remains busy place during this 4-day celebration, you head down to Las Tablas, the most popular destination in Panama during Carnival.
No matter what you choose to do, we recommend you spend some time in the beach areas of Coronado Real Estate and have fun in the sun in one of the most beautiful places you will ever visit.
